When I first looked at gaming laptops I was pretty underwhelmed. I’ve had my experiences with Macs so I knew what I wanted, an apple product. There are many people who have MACs and are interested in finding gaming laptops, but don’t have any clue where to find them. So I did some looking around on Reddit and toms and found the perfect solution to my dilemma. A review on gaming laptops by someone who has tried both.

In my review I compared a few laptops like the Razer Mamba, the Toshiba satellite xsi and the Alienware laptop Pro and listed them from best to worst. In the interest of fairness I should also mention that I don’t own a laptop and only have to use mine when I travel. The review also compares performance between a gaming laptop vs desktop reddit though so I thought it would compare the two laptops at the same time.

The first thing that struck me when reading the review on gaming laptops was the choice of colour. Most of the laptops on the market seem to be based on one color like black, grey or white. The Alienware laptop Pro for example was grey and the gaming laptops seemed to be all based on white. It looked a little strange to see two different colours in one review, but hey, maybe they like it better on Reddit or something.

The second thing that struck me in the review was the processing power. Both laptops had Intel Core i7-8700H processors and the Alienware laptop Pro had twice the processing power of the Asus. In my opinion this was the deciding factor in the decision to choose the Asus over the other two. The dell laptop on the other hand had a quad core i5 processor and a faster processor. I think with these two factors alone I would have gone for the Asus and I am not a fan of gaming laptops at all so if I had have been given a choice between the two I would have went for the laptop with the higher spec.
